“I’ve lived in shame for a long time…and it wasn’t necessarily all my shame. This shame - it affects - keeps you sick, and sicker, and sick because it’s the one thing you will not, won’t not, do not share with any other individual. Period. You protect it. You put walls up around it actually. You can even pretend that it doesn’t exist.

However, I learned the opposite of that - vulnerability. In my environment, I could never be vulnerable. Not allowed. Can’t show weakness. Period. Point blank. But that’s a lie…

I think I had a discussion with each and every one of these guys  and then I started getting well and better and getting back my life. So therefor my moms boyfriends and the street and everything else didn’t have a hold of me anymore.”
