In-Prison Program Outcomes

Upon entry to the in‑prison education program and upon completion, participants complete an 85‑question survey that measures over a dozen areas of construct covered in the RISE curriculum. [1]

Through data analysis, RISE is able to determine statistically significant growth for the 2021 graduates and identify the specific areas where improvement was found.

The results of this data analysis indicate that the RISE in‑prison program is significantly impacting the lives of its participants in the following areas:

  • Behavior change

  • Hope and empowerment

  • Grit

  • Employment readiness [2]

  • Positive support systems

Although the statistically significant findings are limited to the areas above, it is important to recognize that growth also occurred in many other domains when examining raw pre‑programming versus post‑programming data.[3]

For example, growth was witnessed in healthy coping strategiesself‑efficacyprosocial behaviordeveloping relationshipsimproved decision‑making, and reentry preparedness.

Regardless of statistical significance, growth in any area related to character development and employment readiness is likely to positively impact outcomes during the remaining time of incarceration and after release.
