IF YOU’RE OFF PAPER, YOU CAN VOTE
For years, Nebraskans with a felony conviction had to wait two years after finishing their sentence before they could register. A 2024 law (LB 53) removed that waiting period.
Now, once you've completed your sentence, you may be able to register right away. Many people who are eligible today still believe they have to wait — or never heard the rule changed. You might be one of them.
